Yuichiro Tamaki (55), leader of the Democratic Party for the People, who recently admitted to and apologized for his affair with former gravure idol Miyuki Koizumi (39), is currently trending on social media for writing on his official blog 18 years ago that he would “never commit adultery.” On October 7, 2006, Tamaki updated his blog with a title “Quality Assurance of Political Parties.” He wrote about a conversation he had with a young business manager, quoting the manager’s comments such as “Political parties should be more thorough in managing the quality of their members,” but added that “he had a strong distrust for existing political parties. But I think the general public probably feels the same way. The large number of independents speaks for itself. “What is a political party?” “It means a group that shares the same political ideals and policies, but I believe that more than that, it should be a group of people who meet a certain level of quality,” he wrote. He added, “Rather than making it a condition to pass a certain qualification exam, like for lawyers or accountants, this is a matter of saying, ‘Absolutely not committing fraud. “I will never commit adultery. I believe that as politicians, we should be a group that can confidently promise to be a group that can withstand the trust of voters. “We don’t necessarily have to be saints, but I think we should be a group of people with higher ethical standards,” he continued. He added, “Companies that fail to control their own quality will not survive. I think the same goes for political parties. I don’t think a two-party system would be viable unless we could achieve this quality control. Above all, I want to become a politician that people can trust.” When this blog was “discovered” online, it was inundated with comments on social media sites such as X. “I feel so betrayed,” “It’s like a direct hit from a boomerang,” “This is hilarious. Various reactions have been received, such as, “After all, people who aren’t confident that they can remain innocent for the rest of their lives shouldn’t say anything unnecessary,” “The fact that he had a strong intro shows that he has the basics down as a comedian,” “That was such a painful boomerang…,” and “You can’t trust the absolutes of people who say ‘absolutely’.” *Previous thread.

If you add this in, it’s a big defeat for the people who keep repeating “Honey Trap” comments. Tamakin was just a general with a raging dick. He’s strict with others but lenient with himself.
I wonder if in the old days they wrote “furen” (infidelity) but called it “pudding”… Yeah, I guess the meaning is different! Is that even possible?

Judas friends don’t die easily from cancer, and they don’t easily go under even when scandals emerge. Normally, this would at the very least require him to resign from his position as party leader. But I won’t resign. In response, members of the Diet from the Democratic Party for the People have said nothing. Media commentators are not urging him to resign.
He calls it a boomerang thing, but he’s been having affairs for several years now and has been pursuing other people’s affairs this year as well, so this guy is on a whole other level.
